1. Why are you running for an Executive Board position?
I feel I can strengthen the Student Government Association while concurrently improving the quality of campus life at IIT.
2. What relevant experience do you have with student government at IIT or elsewhere?
I was a former SGA Senator. During my time in office, I was an active member of the Academic Affairs committee. I participated in Academic Affairs events, and contributed to many of the projects they embarked upon. Outside of the Academic Affairs committee, I took on several external projects. Two of the major projects I worked on were a tuition lock report that compared IIT’s current tuition system to a financial system with a different tuition billing method, and another project involved contacting other universities and finding out how much their students paid into the Student Activities Fund (SAF) again for comparison with IIT.
3. What other extra-curricular experiences do you have?
Former President of Illinois Tech Robotics
Student Government Senator
RHA representative
4. How would you best represent the interest of IIT students in your decision making?
I represent the small organizations on campus. I was the leader of a small organization for almost two years. Throughout my campaign platform, one of my main objectives in that document is to make it clear I intend to promote small organizations. I feel that if SGA can make the small campus organizations stronger, there will be positive effects in many areas both on and off campus.
5. What strengths do you have that you consider as important to be an Exec Board Member?
I motivate those around me. SGA needs a self motivated leader who can guide others in times of need as well as get people excited about working on SGA projects.
I am not afraid to try new things. My campaign platform outlines several new ideas I would implement within SGA. I believe those new ideas will make SGA a much stronger organization that is more appreciated by the IIT community.
