Position: Executive Vice President
1. Why are you running for an Executive Board position?
My main idea behind any involvement in student activities is that a person has no right to complain about anything, instead they should take an active role in attempting to make it change. I’m running because I feel that with my talents and experience I can take a more active role in helping to shape our experience here at IIT.
2. What relevant experience do you have with student government at IIT or elsewhere?
I have had significant roles in SGA through the senate as a representative of the Armour Institute of Technology for two and a half terms and was then elected into the VP of Communications position for one term. Most recently I have had the pleasure or being elected Executive VP. Throughout my experience I have been dedicated to the enhancement of the Senate and its relevance and transperency to the Student body.
3. What other extra-curricular experiences do you have?
I have worked with ASCE as the project manager of the steel bridge competition. Along with that, I have helped Union Board to as the Vice President of Publicity.
4. How would you best represent the interest of IIT students in your decision making?
I believe that by running for this position and by being voted in, I am obligated along with fellow Exec. Board members, to represent the students of IIT by lending an open ear and dedicating my time and effort to make sure their comments and complaints are met quickly and effectively.
5. What strengths do you have that you consider as important to be an Exec Board Member?
I believe that through my work in leadership experience and time management skills all qualify me for this position. My past experience and my involvement in current SGA activities is proof of my willingness to dedicate time and effort to SGA and most importantly, the students of IIT.
